Electric Scooter Accident in San Diego Focus of CNN Article

A CNN story highlighted an accident in San Diego along with some of the serious concerns of injuries and accidents that are occurring as the electric scooter craze continues here.  According to the story, the accident involved a rider who was not wearing a helmet and crashed after hitting a bump in the road.  The rider reportedly lost consciousness and was treated at the hospital for a concussion, broken nose and lacerations.

While in the hospital, the first rider saw another victim of a scooter accident brought in who was suffering from a brain bleed.  The second rider also was not wearing a helmet.

Accidents Continue to Occur as Scooter Usage Peaks

Accidents involving electric scooters placed in San Diego by Bird, Lime and Razor have continued to increase as usage increases.  According to a recent Union Tribune article, the city of San Diego has not regulated the industry and no data has been released showing how many people have been injured in accidents involving electric scooters.  Reports of concussions, broken bones and even intoxicated users are all noted in the article.
